Creating a gift wrapping station can lessen your holiday chaos and make it easy to get your gift wrapping done more efficiently. Gather all of your paper, ribbons, tags and other supplies into one dedicated place for the month with these three tips.
- Gather your standard supplies
Bring all of your holiday wrapping items like papers, ribbons, bows and tags together to see the scope of what you have and where you might need to add. Don’t forget scissors, tape, string, pens and even your hot glue gun if you want to get really creative. - Set up your station
Try repurposing a small table, bookshelf, corner area or desk as your wrapping surface. Put rolls of paper together upright in a small trashcan. Add bows, ribbons and trinkets to clear, stacked containers. Make sure tape, scissors and pens are easy-access. Great places to set up are in a guest room not being used, a basement or bedroom corner, the end of your dining table, or even a rolling cart you can move out of the way. - Sprinkle in the extras
For extra sparkle on your gifts, hot glue pinecones, toys or ornaments onto gifts. Cut custom gift tags out of last year’s holiday cards or card stock. Bits of ribbon and twine can become playful package decorations too. Tissue and brown paper from purchases can serve as free, recycled wrapping. And plain bags can become a canvas to decorate for a unique presentation.
