How to store your holiday decorations? There are several low-cost ways to store décor, and if you’re not doing it already, this can be your tutorial for how to store it for next year!

Wreaths and Hanging DécorStore wreaths off-season by simply hanging them on hooks in your garage, or on the back of a spare closet door. You can also use a hanger, cover them with a trashbag to keep them clean, and hang them in a closet like clothing. Flat, under a bed is another way to protect wreaths.

Wrapping Paper
Try a simple round wastebasket for all your rolls of paper. Or, a back-of-the-door organizer works nicely as well.

Lights
Instead of rolling them into a giant mess, try wrapping your string lights around a cardboard square, that you’ve cut out of a shipping box. This keeps them from tangling. Then just stack your wrapped squares in a storage container. Keep spare bulbs and other small parts for lights in a small fishing lure box, or a zip bag.

Ornaments
Nest your small fragile ornaments in old egg cartons. Larger ones can rest in drink trays from your local fast food restaurant, or cardboard wine carriers from the grocery store. Coffee filters also offer individual ornament cushioning.

And don’t forget to take pictures of everything once it’s up. Why? You can use these pictures next year to help you remember where everything goes.
